Office Coordinator (Full-Time)
Starting Wage: $24–$29/hour DOE
Juneau Montessori School is seeking a highly organized, reliable, and warm Office Coordinator to support the daily operations of our toddler and preschool classrooms. This role is the hub of our school, balancing administrative management, family communication, and occasional hands-on classroom support.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage student records, enrollment, and billing
- Coordinate staff schedules, leave, and payroll
- Maintain office and classroom supplies
- Support families, including school tours and enrollment questions
- Step into classrooms, playground, and aftercare as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma (experience in office management or childcare administration preferred)
- Strong organization, communication, and multitasking skills
- Team player who is calm, reliable, and flexible
- Interest in Montessori education (training provided if needed)
- Willingness to obtain 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education or CDA within 1 year

School Assistant (Full-Time)
Starting Wage: $20-$22/hour DOE
Juneau Montessori School is seeking a full-time School Assistant to join our warm, collaborative community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, values a calm and respectful environment, and is interested in learning more about Montessori education.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:45am–5:15pm (Some flexibility with scheduling is appreciated.)
About the Role
Our School Assistant is an essential part of the daily rhythm of the school, supporting children, teachers, and the classroom environment. This is a “float” position, meaning you will work across all three classrooms and collaborate with all members of our team. This variety offers a unique opportunity to build relationships with the entire school community and gain a broad understanding of Montessori practice. The role includes both direct work with children and behind-the-scenes support that helps the classrooms run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children during daily routines, including lunch, rest time, playground, and aftercare
- Help maintain a calm, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment
- Assist with preparing snacks and classroom materials
- Wash dishes and support general classroom organization and cleanliness
- Step into different classrooms as needed throughout the day
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to support children’s development and wellbeing
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Nurturing, patient, and calm in their interactions with children
- Reliable, consistent, and able to follow through on responsibilities
- Comfortable balancing childcare responsibilities with practical tasks (cleaning, food prep, etc.)
- Flexible and able to shift between different classrooms and roles throughout the day
- A strong team player with clear and respectful communication
- Interested in learning about Montessori philosophy and child development
